The sermon text today, John 6:24-35, has Jesus explaining to his contemporaries (and us) that the bread of God is he who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world. Jesus  is more than just the manna that God gave the Israelites in the dessert.  He is, as one of our retired ALC Pastors Dr V Pfitzner has shown, God’s full revelation and ultimate wisdom (see his Chi Rho commentary on John, pages 126-13).  So believing in Jesus is like eating a wisdom loaf.  Today we’ll look at how this wisdom loaf is like no other bread loaf we’ll ever eat
