Yes! It is for many people too difficult to believe that a dead man could be raised to life again. Not just for a short time until he eventually died again (compare with Lazarus of John 11:1-44). But eternally. Us too! The fifteenth chapter of Paul’s first letter to the church at Corinth takes us deep inside the history, physicality, spirituality, mystery and proclamation of this glorious message of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Jesus said in John 11:25-26: ‘I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die, and whoever lives and believes in me will never die’. Paul noted the connection between believing and preaching when he said ‘Whether then it is was I or they, this is what we preach, and this is what you believed’ (1 Corinthians 15:11). And so today we preach (and listen and receive) that we may believe… believe an unbelievably good message of life!
