Today we continue to journey through the cracking action of the opening chapter of Mark’s Gospel. Specifically we meet Jesus  addressing and deconstructing religious and cultural taboo head on, seeking the solitude of a quiet place to pray, yet also mysteriously asking that his deeds of healing not be publicised (Mark 1:29-45).  We can take much comfort from our Lord who smashes down the walls that keep people outcast.  We’ll see what his request to keep it all quiet for the moment had to do with that… and what now is its relevance for us as we live life in him.
