One of the symbols of the church is the Galilean style fishing boat.  It symbolises that on the rough seas of the world, safety and protection can be found where Christ is present and dispenses his grace through word and sacrament.  But what happens when Christ is out of the boat?  How can that encourage us?  That’s what we’ll consider today as we hear about Jesus walking on the water.
